These conditions are necessary to ensure the well being of our valued guests and the orderly continuance of the establishment. Please do not hesitate to contact us immediately should you observe or experience anything that does not meet your expectations.
I. LYDENRUST GUEST FARM
1. Reservations and payments
1.1. The name, phone number and email address of at least one of the persons sharing the unit must be provided when the reservation is made. Persons over the age of 12 years are classified as adults.
1.2. Reservations will not be confirmed until the booking form and proof of payment is provided to us at which time we will send a confirmation form with relevant reservation details to the guest.
1.3. A 50% deposit is required to secure bookings. The balance has to be paid at least 14 days before arrival.
1.4. Credit and Debit Cards, EFT and Bank Transfers are the preferred methods of payment. We do not accept cheques.
1.5. The guest retains personal liability for the bill until the agent or person that made the reservation on his or her behalf has settled it.
1.6. Rates are subject to change without notice. Quotations are valid for 24 hours unless otherwise specified. Subject to availability upon acceptance. In case of a double booking the payment that reflects in the bank account first will secure the accommodation and the later payment will be refunded in full.
1.7. Discounted rates will be revised should the duration of stay be decreased or interrupted or payment terms not be adhered to.
1.8. If cancelled or modified up to 14 days before date of arrival, 50% of the total price of the reservation will be charged. If cancelled or modified later than 14 days before date of arrival, and in case of a no show, 100% of the total price of the reservation will be charged. Banking fees that may have been levied on deposits will be deducted from the refund amount. Quote totals will not be reduced should you be fewer guests than originally specified.
1.9. Refunds on cancellations will only be made after payment has been finally cleared by the bank or Credit Card company.
2. Arrival and Departure
2.1. Check in time is between 14:00 and 20:00 unless prior arrangements have been made.
2.2. Check out time is by 10:30 unless prior arrangements have been made. This is to enable the room to be prepared in time for new arrivals. Late check outs may be charged for.
3. Parking and Access
3.1. Parking is free.
3.2. No visitors will be permitted without permission. We accept no responsibility for any loss or damage.
4.1. The office is contactable from 07:00 strong 22:00 every day.
4.2. The establishment operates on a self-catering basis and does not provide meals. Personal laundry may be requested with extra charge.
5.1. Although the establishment takes reasonable steps to ensure the safety and security of guests and their possessions, guests retain final responsibility for their own safety and security. Keep units locked at all times. Always leave unit locked on departure.
6. Entertainment Facilities
6.1 No loud music is permitted outside for the well being of our guests and farm animals.
6.2 Adult supervision is required when kids play around the pool.
7.1. Please be considerate when it comes to the use of the plumbing and electrics. Kindly switch off lights when not in a room and ensure the outside lights for your unit are switched off in the morning.
8. Smoking, alcohol and drugs
8.1. Smoking is permitted on the veranda’s and in the gardens/outdoors. Kindly do not smoke in the units.
8.2 Moderate alcohol consumption is allowed on the property.
8.3 Drugs consumption is not allowed on the property.
9. Loss or Damage to Establishment Property
9.1. The guest is liable for any loss or damages (excluding wear and tear) to the property of the establishment.
10. General Incapacity
10.1. The establishment cannot be held liable if any of the following events or conditions prevents us from fulfilling out obligation to guests. We will take all reasonable steps to minimize disruption and discomfort to guests under these conditions.
10.1.1. Unanticipated interruption to the electricity, water, sewage to, from or on the guest house property.
10.1.2. Industrial action, civil uprising or criminal activity.
10.1.3. Fire, frost, flooding, subsidence or any other force major event.
11. Limit to Liability
The maximum liability of the establishment for any event or condition for which a guest may institute a claim is limited to the value of one day’s accommodation.
II. LYDENRUST HORSE TRAILS
1. Reservations and payments
1.1. The name, phone number and email address of at least one of the persons riding must be provided when the reservation is made.
1.2. Reservations will not be confirmed until we send a confirmation form with relevant reservation details. The establishment reserves the right to cancel and/or reschedule any ride for any reason at any time at their sole discretion.
1.3. No deposit is required to secure bookings. The balance has to be paid on arrival.
1.4. Cash, Credit and Debit Cards, EFT and Bank Transfers are the preferred methods of payment. We do not accept cheques.
1.5. Rates are subject to change without notice. Quotations are valid for 24 hours unless otherwise specified.
1.6. Discounted rates will be revised should the trail options or number of participants be changed.
1.7. If cancelled or modified up to 24 hours before ride, 0% of the total price of the reservation will be charged. If cancelled or modified later than 24 hours before ride, and in case of a no show, 100% of the total price of the reservation will be charged.
1.8. A parent or legal guardian must confirm bookings for anyone under 18 years of age.
2.1. Morning trails start at 08:00, afternoon trails at 16:00. Half-day trails are only available in the morning.
2.2. All participants must arrive at least 10 minutes prior to confirmed booking time.
2.3. Riders might be grouped together to fill the available slots.
2.4. All riding itineraries are approximate and occasionally conditions dictate that they be changed.
2.5. In the event of rain or stormy weather, the trail will be postponed to a suitable date for the guests.
2.6. Participants must be dressed accordingly for horse riding and for the weather conditions. Long pants, closed shoes, sun protection methods and sunglasses are advised. Skimpy clothing and flip flops will not be accepted.
2.7. We reserve the right to judge a rider’s competence and ability. Riders, who, in the sole opinion of the guide, are unable to control their horse or who pose a threat to the safety of themselves, their horse or other riders in the group, will be dismounted.
2.8. We reserves the right, without further notice, to make use of any photographs or film taken on rides or walks by our staff for general publicity purposes without payment or permission.
3.1. All clients must have completed a Rider Registration/Indemnity Form before riding a horse or taking part in any horse related activities.
3.2. We provide riding helmets that guests are required to wear.
3.3. For the safety of our clients and for the benefit of the health of our horses we have a safety weight restriction of 90kg and this limit will strictly be adhered to.
3.4. Bookings are accepted on the basis that riders do not suffer from any illness or disability which could prejudice their safety on horseback.
3.5. Riders must have comprehensive medical and travel insurance to cover this type of holiday. The establishment assumes no responsibility for any injury, loss or damage before, during or after any activity related to horse riding. The client must assume he/she is not covered by any insurance policy the operator may hold, including all liability insurance for death, injury, damage or any other loss.
3.6. Clients wanting to ride may not be intoxicated by any alcohol or drugs. If clients are found to be intoxicated upon arrival they will be refused to commence on the ride without any refund. No consumption of alcohol or any drugs are allowed during a ride or on the premises.
